What are offered in the Linlai Tube Amazon store?
Two new factory-direct tube series are offered, ie. ‘Heritage Series’ for high end ‘tube rolling upgrade’, and ‘Aurora Series’ for base level ‘parallel replacement’.
These two series are NOT sold through any other sources including authorized domestic Chinese dealers or overseas resellers. They are exclusively offered through Linlai Tube Factory Official Amazon store ONLY at this time.
Linlai Heritage Series:
It is worthwhile to mention that this new ‘Heritage Series’ is NOT meant to take the place of the Linlai flagship Elite E-series. Heritage series is designed and priced below the Elite E-series, and intend to provide improved affordability to those wish to experience more tube rolling options but hindered by flagship series’ high costs. The streamlined distribution model, i.e no middlemen between tube factory to retail consumer, allows Linlai tube factory to maintain its viable pricing for this ‘tube rolling’ option in the mid-to-high-end market.
At this time, tube models offered under ‘Heritage Series’ are limited to Triode tubes only, i.e. 300B, 2A3, 6SN7 aka CV181, 845, 805A (no cap) and 211.
Linlai Aurora Series:
This ‘parallel replacement’ category of tubes are meant to provide tube audio owners an affordable pricing point as ‘replacement in parallel’ for their aging / failed stock / baseline tubes to keep amplifiers in good operational shape. It provides a ‘different flavor’ of sound, compared to Russian (such Electro Harmonix, Mullard new production) or Eastern European (such as JJ), with a less analytical and more full bodied sound from Chinese origin tube design. If a customer had never experienced Chinese tube sound, it is an excellent starting point to have some fun in ‘tube rolling’ without a big budget.
At this time, tube models under ‘Aurora Series’ include the following:
- Aurora Series small 9-pin preamp tubes: 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7. Please note that Linlai tube factory does not run an in-house 9-pin tube production line. These tubes are procured and screened from the state-owned Shuguang tube factory and re-branded with Linlai quality endorsement. They are further split to two grades – ‘red print without gold pin’ for lower grade and ‘gold print with gold pin’ for higher grade.
- Aurora Series POWER tubes: 300B, 2A3, 845, 805A (no cap), 211 and KT88 Quad / KT88 Pair.
- Aurora Series rectifier tube: 274B Pair / 274B Single
